have now had this car for 18 months and have so far covered 36,000 miles. The car has been a dissapointment from day 1 and has not improved as expected. Have had many faults as per other people and Honda dealership service has been appalling. Had the pulling to left fault which was eventually sorted but without explaination. Clutch clicking fault was sorted with a new part for about a week but has now reappeared again. Quality of the plastics is terrible for a £25k car. Problem with the boot closing. Sat nav is useless - people on here that say it is good have obviously never used a Tom Tom. Ask it to find the nearest pub and it finds one in Germany!! No washer fluid level indicator!! My father in laws skoda fabia has this! a nightmare omission in the winter months! Absolutely ridiculous and pointless voice activation. Why press 2 buttons and tell the car to turn the temp down when you can reach 2 inches to the dial and do it in half the time!! Running costs are a joke - never seen above 39mpg and the amount I have spent on servicing so far is 3 times as much I spent on servicing on my BMW at the same mileage. The car is a barge to drive - awful handling (makes my children car sick),indirect and wooly steering, terrible brakes! Suprisingly noisy diesel engine - drinks oil too! All in all a very poor car, very disappointing and I will be glad to see the back of it when my lease finishes!
This is my third CRV in 8 years, covering on average 20K per annum. Quality is excellent; space is vast; economy of the petrol engine is fine on long runs - not so good local. Servicing has been brilliant with virtually no unexpected bills and dealer excellent. Tyres last about 25-30,000 miles! I have the auto box - just aim and hold on - probabaly the best and easiest car I have ever driven. You might have the impression I like this car - too right. My only gripe - the fuel tank is too small!
Sparkle Grey: Early days we have only done 550 miles my car is a lease car for business & personal use, I upgraded the wheels to 18" I think they give a better ride than 17" no pulling to the left the brakes are good had an emergency stop yesterday did the job very well. I agree about the finish also there is one issue I think Honda should look at on the next revision is more storage most large cars have under seat storage and cubby holes galore I find the CRV lacking in this area. Overall so far top marks for it: I will post an update once It's had a load more miles on it.
I am a relatively high-mileage business user and have been loyal to Honda, as this is my third Honda in a row.
This vehicle has turned out to be a disappointment. Hopefully my excellent local Honda garage will correct most of the problems.
The sat-nav has never functioned and is being replaced. I have waited four weeks so far. The car pulls to the left and the gear change is very slow and sticky. The clutch is also juddery.
There are many good things such as interior space, a solid feel to the vehicle, good positioning of most of the controls and a high level of equipment. The car hi-fi is very good.
Power from the 2.2 CDTi unit is edequate. The seats are very comfortable. It is a good long-distance cruiser, although it's a bit noisy at times.
On the negative side, some trim is very poor, especially in boot area, which I have already torn. Fuel economy is 36mpg.
The engine is a bit rauscus compared with the same engine in my previous Accord. Road noise is too high on some surfaces. The iPod attachment is a waste of money, as is adaptive cruise control, which is only of use in very quiet traffic conditions. The brakes are stodgy, too.
