I purchased my 2006 Honda Jazz 10 months ago upon my Father's recommendation. I have never looked back. The engine is beautifully quiet and for its size responds well around town as well as on the motorway. The overall drive is smooth and effortless, fuel consumption is excellent. I regularly return an average of 55 miles to the gallon on a combined cycle and have attained 59 miles to the gallon on a journey from the Midlands to Cornwall. I admit the steering took some getting used to as it is extremely light. The cabin is well designed and spacious with extremely versatile storage areas. I love the fact that the Jazz has adult sized rear seats which are not often found in many of todays super minis. The lack of an intermittant rear wipe option is an oversight (as is the positioning of the rear washer jet) and the wide pillars can obscure the view (although I understand this is something Honda have tried to address in the new model). These are insignificant issues though when compared to the rest of this innovative package. I do think the 1.2 model offers the best overall value for money.
I have owned my Honda Jazz since August 2003 and love it, the best car I have ever had. 67,000 trouble free miles, original exhaust. Sailed through the mot. Would like to buy another one but am loathed to part with it. Mine came direct from japan. If it came from china or if it was built in europe I would not buy one. I feel the build quality is better in japan maybe that is why it has been so reliable and never let me down.
My wife;District Nurse, bought her Jazz second hand after a hefty recommendation from a friend who has his own garage. The interior is imaginative and well designed .Excellent for town and rural runs although it can get slightly noisy and you do 'feel' the road.Infact we have had such a positive experience I have just sold the Audio to become a two Honda Jazz family.
I bought this car because of the rave reviews and have been disappointed. The first thing they don't tell you is that many are made in China. The other thing is that the steering on mine was dangerously tight and wandered. Honda know they have a problem with Jazz steering racks and have issued a bulletin to dealers. While they were happy to replace the steering rack on warranty this really shouldn't happen with a 3 month old car. Honda know there are others out there with this problem but will only respond to complaints. BEWARE!
