    My car

A very spacious, economical car. Excellent value for money. Acceleration is a little flat in fourth and fifth gear.

    My car

A good drive is marred only by a jittery ride at some speeds and excessive wind and road noise at speed. I have spent the last two and half years with an SE Sport model, which was expensive at £11,500, but virtually trouble-free for two years.

Once past two years and 30,000 miles, though two many faults manifested themselves. Among many faults, all four alloy wheels started crumbling, the CD player jammed and several second-hand replacements. (I believe Honda supply their dealers only with reconditioned units) have been ill-fitting and of differing colour shades, seats wobbled and squeaked, the air-con stopped cooling and lets vapour streams into the cabin, pedals creak and steering grinds. It's not just mine that's suffered these problems either.

So while this car is a clever package, too many gremlins let it down. I'm sure the engine will never break, but everything else does. Poor.

    My car

The engine is responsive and pulls well across a wide range of speeds. You can drive the car gently, but it is also capable of quite lively performance. The car feels very together mechanically. There is no problem with the ride. Fast cornering can sometimes feel a bit hairy.

The car is very spacious and versatile: much bigger than it looks. This is very useful both in cities and on single-track roads in Devon! The tight turning circle is also a nice feature. The car has a good level of equipment. I like the door mirror heaters and the air-conditioning, which can make quite a big difference to visibility as well as comfort. Ventilation can sometimes feel adequate rather than brilliant, though.

In urban and suburban commuting, I routinely manage better than 45mpg. The car is perfectly happy on motorways, and can keep up well with traffic, but I didn’t buy it primarily as a motorway cruiser. It is excellent for commuting; for fetching and carrying packages from IKEA; and for carrying four or even five people in all conditions.

    Definitely recommended.

I had a test drive recently. It's a nice car, but shame about the price.
