    My car

After four years of ownership of a clio we decided to test drive a 1.4 GSI Getz in 5 door format. While the build quality seemed to be fairly good with all parts fitting into place, we felt that the cabin quality was like going back in time say about 10 years. The radio and the rest of the plastics are cheap and the seats are lacking in support. The car does have four airbags but at a closer inspection of the crush test results on the NCAP site the car only achives four stars with some marginal areas. With regard to the deal that was on offer from the dealer, well the price changed about five times and just minutes after agreeing the deal the free service offer was excluded not to mention the fact that our part exchange also lost another £400 in the space of one week! Sorry Hyundai but this family will stay safe with more airbags a good price and a deal that was agreed over the phone and later honored by the Renault garage where we left our hard earned cash to purchase a nice sleek and comfortable new clio.

    My car

i bought a getz 1.1 gsi and had it 9 months before i chopped it in as it was so under powered , then i got the 1.6 sport what a big difference in cars. its cheap to run and road tax is the same as a 1.1 getz. my sport getz is a nippy little thing it does 0-60 in just under 8 secs which aint bad for a 1.6 but the top end and pull are good to as i have had 127mph so very pleased with it , the build quality and interier are good for what you pay. but these cars lose so much value. i purchased the sport in dec 2004 for 11,999 and had a vale done on it and its worth 3,900 book price so alot of money lost but lovely long lasting reliable car

    My car

Following my own previous review and that of Mr Tait - at 18 months my Getz had not given problems - and should not have done! I would expect that of a car with 40 miles on the clock and which was in immaculate condition. The running costs will probably dramatically kick in when the car is about three years old.

My Getz has now done 37,000 miles and has had its fourth service. Since February, the car has cost £860 in garage fees - this has included a replacement clutch, service and replacement of disk pads (for the second time since ownership).

I was advised today that front pads will last on average from 20,000-30,000 miles and are often changed on the second service. My tyres will have to be replaced in July, bringing this year's garage costs to £1000. I don't think this is very good in a three-and-a-half year-old car.

As I said before, beware. The car is easy to drive, but parts are expensive to replace and do not last very long.

    My car

I drive my wife's 18 month old Getz now and again and think it is a lovely car to drive and theres been no problem with it. It's nippy around town and more than adequate on the motorway giving a comfortable ride. She bought it from Twickenham at nearly a year old with only 40 miles on the clock and was in immaculate showroom condition. I have found it very easy to park, a good high driving position with very good visability all round also helps. Theres plenty of room in the boot and the rear seats fold down with ease. Around 89% of the car is said to be recyclable too. Ive just bought a new style corsa recently but I am begining to wish I took another look at the Hyundai range.
