i have own the 1.6gsi matrix from new (05) and have found it to be very reliable and a good workhorse. the only drawbacks i have with the car are the small boot and the fuel economy the equipment level is of a good standard for a car in its price range only lacking in remote central locking i would recomened this car to anyone looking for a small mpv
I bought this car for my wife, as she needed something bigger than her Fiesta. I was immediately very impressed with the car and often found an excuse to borrow it. I never thought that I would use the words "good car" and "Hyundai" in the same sentence, but it is a good car. It drives quite well, has lots of equipment, and was keenly priced when I bought it at 2 years old. Visibility is excellent, even for my wife who is only 5 feet tall, its easy to park and cheap to run. As a second car its extremely versatile, - TRY ONE!!!
We bought this car for my wife who is a district nurse but also does the school runs. It's high up and has plenty of space - she loves it. Basically it does the job it was bought for well but the 1.8 engine performs like a 1.4 and the fuel consumption is poor. Don't sit in the middle of the back seats though. The leather causes you to slide all over the place when going round bends !
My elderly father owns this car, and although he is unable to drive it now, my wife and I have driven it around town extensively. I recommended the car to my father because of its practicality and size.
I am impressed with the interior space and it is comfortable to drive, if a bit sluggish, with any load. I have found the fuel consumption in town (which is also hilly) is very poor - I only manage a meagre 22mpg. It is good on long journeys, as we have two girls aged 11 and 9 and they can use the power supply in the boot for their Gameboys and so on.
I would recommend this car for a small family - but not for the school run in a hilly area!
