    My car

I purchased a three-month old 55/2005 ex-demonstrator with leather upholstery, privacy glass and towbar and 1100 miles for less than £17,000. I have now done 22,000 miles. It has excellent levels of comfort and space inside and takes everything in its stride. There's loads of power even at real-world motorway speed.

Fuel economy is between 28-30 mpg - this doesn't alter no matter how I change my driving style, around town or on open roads or whether climate control is on or off. The stereo unit is weak and I have changed it for a Kenwood version, and cruise control would have been a bonus.

In terms of faults, the passenger footwell filled with water one Sunday morning, when the dealer was closed, of course. On investigating, I found a ball bearing blocking the breather pipe to the heater/air-con box. It was sorted in 15 minutes and the electric mirror switch has played up (the dealer is fitting a new one while I wait).

Am I concerned about any of this? Not really, there's four years of the warranty left!

It's an excellent value full-size 4x4 and I would recommend one.

    My car

Having bought a 54 plate april 06,wanted a 4X4 read reviews and went for it.What a brilliant car have done 20000 since without a single problem, took it to Spain in summer what a treat.averaged 32mpg and gave it plenty of welly on the way. Dislike the plastic wood facia, but like the comfort and power,I also like the fact that there are not so common. Dealership has been very good Kingswall Kings Lynn highly reccomend. 5 yr warranty is best of all,go and buy one,or buy mine and I will get a newer one.

    My car

I purchased my Terracan in March this year. have driven 7500 miles with approx 2000 towing my large heavy caravan. Towing is effortless even up long hills and when overtaking. The build quality seems great (no rattles etc) I am getting approx 32 per gal' on average which I think is excellent for such a large car.

I agree with most reviewers that this car has never been given the write up it truly deserves. Our friend has a Kia Sorento which has much less space, cost more and is not as comfortable as the Terracan. Never have figured out how the Sorento got Towcar of the Year by the Caravan Club. Only issue, which you probably are all aware of is the limited slip diff problem (not a drastic problem).

Wife drives it everyday and tows with it and agrees with all of the above. If you are looking for a 4x4 then at least test drive the Terracan and dont just dimiss it because it has a Hyundai badge. Dont forget you get 5 years warranty.

    My car

I have just bought a pre-registered 55-plate example for just short of £16,000. What a bargain.

Dealer service has been excellent, we got competitive finance, a good part-exchange deal and it's an excellent vehicle.

So far, I have found it is quiet up to 80 mph. It pulls very strongly in any gear and steers as well as could be expected for a vehicle this size.

It comes with everything you could possibly need and will tow anything imaginable. There is loads of space and it has a very comfortable ride.

It knocks the socks of my previous 4x4s, a Mk1 and Series 2 Land Rover Discovery, and to top it off, it comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.

The only down side is the slightly plasticy interior, but it is no worse than my last car, an old-shape Honda Accord. However, a full size 4x4 for this money - who's complaining?
