I have owned my Tucson for 4 months. I have found the comments on fuel consumption interesting. I thought it would be better but it seems like 26mpg for urban and 32 for open road driving is about the norm.
By the way, the onboard fuel economy indication is in US gallons (so much for a UK spec vehicle) to convert to UK gallons multiply the indicated figure by 1.2. Overall I am happy with my Tucson, just disappointed with the fuel comsumption.
The interior quality is good for the price and very well put together. It's comfy and drives well and is not at all noisy. Exterior quality is way better than you would expect and I am pleased with its looks.
My diesel returns 36mpg when driving carefully but normal driving delivers 31mpg. For a heavy vehicle, I think this is fine. I would buy one again as I have never had a single fault in five years of owning Hyundais.
I have owned my Tucson now for approx one month, mine is the 2.0 CRTD CDX.
Fuel consumption is reasonable, considering most of my driving is in heavy traffic, my first tankfull returned 33mpg and the next two both returned 30mpg.
Build quality is excellent as is the ride and comfort, it has all the toys too. I also considered the Rav4 but it would have cost approx £4000+ more and without the five-year warranty.
I'm very pleased with my Tucson and with the dealer (ES Jones, Deeside).
Yes I would reccomend it and I would buy another.
I have just done the first 1000 miles and am very pleased. I was looking for a well priced 4x4 with high spec level.
I considered both the RAV4 and CRV but to get the same specification cost £1000s more. From a major dealer, I paid £14,688, undercutting What Car?'s target price by about £500.
The car handles well and has a good turn of speed, if you don't watch the fuel guage! My driving is all out of town open road, but my 2.0CDX is only returning 25 miles to the gallon. Not great but almost acceptable, I am just glad I didn't buy a diesel by the comments of others.
The only big niggle - don't open the glass back screen in the rain, as water will run down the inside. This can be annoying but not enough to cause a flood.
Yes, I will buy another and do recommend it.
