I have owned this car for over 3 years. I love driving it. I have had one or two small problems but nothing major. Jaguar service costs are outrageous so shop around. A lot of garages will service and repair your S-Type.
Have owned mainly Mazdas for 15 years - MX5 MX6 and lastly Xedos 9, Good, reliable cars. Now retired and saw this Sea Frost 3.0 V6 SE Auto, was tempted and fell.
I havent stopped smiling since I bought it. It is wonderful. Now 7 years with 44k on but low cost when buying has allowed budgetting in case of problems.
Comfortable, presence, powerful - always wanted a Jag now I have one. Even enjoy cleaning it!
This is the second S-type I have owned and have had this one over four years. It is a great car and an improvement on the earlier version, paticularly the suspension and dash layout.
I was immediately taken with the design when the car first appeared and still admire it today, although I am never too sure about the radiator grille, as it can sometimes look like a large hole in the front!
The car came fully loaded (sat-nav etc) and drives beautifully. I have driven more than 500 miles in a day on several occasions and got out as fresh as I got in. I have not had any problems whatsoever with either car; everything works as well as the day it was built, although the steering is starting to get a little squeaky (I understand this is not uncommon).
Certainly the boot is not that clever - there is no way can I get two regular-sized suitcases in - but then I think we are all aware of this constraint before buying the car.
My local Jaguar dealer has always been first class - I have no complaints. However, I am not too sure that Jaguar needs to charge over £400 just to fit a bit of wiring in order to play an iPod!
However I would like soon to move to a full four- or five-seater convertable and just wish that Jaguar would produce something based on the S-type, as I really don't relish the thought of having to down-grade to a Mercedes or BMW!
What is left to be said, it is solid reliable (now covered over 100k between two of these and not even a bulb has blown). Good fun to drive image less so. Overall the best cars I have owned. Previous cars include Saabs, BMWs (318 and 325), Volkswagens Golf GTIs.

I've had 6 VWs now including this one and it is a mixed bag. In no particular order the economy is poor despite the FSI badging and in town never…
Why is there so much whining about the rear sets? It's small - it's called a "mini" (hint). It didn't get any smaller after you bought it, so deal…
