    My car

I never thought I'd buy a Jaguar having always had Audi, BMW's and Mercedes, however, when I came to changing my Audi TT Quattro the Jaguar appeared on the radar. I'd been to the usual German make garages where they welcome you like a cash cow with the options list when I passed the Jag dealer and thought why not! I'm so glad I did. I test drove the 3.0 Diesel Premium Luxury and did it drive well. I was amazed at the grip and feedback through the steering wheel (something I've always found not very good on German cars). The standard equipment list was exhaustive. I was so impressed the next day I ordered the same car which was delivered on 11th Dec. I immediately fitted winter tyres having been a fan of these for 10 years and was not dissapointed given the weather at the time. The Jag. gripped as well as the quattro with these on and I would recommend them to anyone. Having had the car for just over a month I'm still so impressed and smile everytime I get in it and start the engine, you never get fed up with the drama. A mention of the Garage , Barretts of Canterbury, especially Colin Till the salesman who looked after me with enthusiasm and always was prepared to go the extra mile. Unlike the German garages this has continued after the purchase took place. They treated me like a human being and not a cash cow with the options list. A comparable audi/BMW/Merc with the same spec would have cost me £12k more. If you have any doubts about changing to a Jag, try one. Brilliant.

    My car

I bought this car mainly on the reviews of previous What Car reviews and adverts showing the sleek lines, I had not actually seen the car in the flesh before ordering. When I did see the car in the flesh I was so disappointed with the looks, from the rear I thought it looked just like the new Mondeo, call me naive but when I had that thought I did not know that Jaguar are owned by Ford. The interior and the drive are great, but I cannot get my head round the fact that I am driving a very expensive Mondeo.

I have moved from a Mercedes CLK which I loved and felt was a prestigious motor, a feeling I know I am never going to achieve in the Jaguar. Another one of my many car buying mistakes-take heed.
