had my XF foe nearly 3 years, i still look forward to every driving minute, for a big car it feels nimble and agile, and even with the 2.7d has a fair bit of up and go !
the fuel consumption for a car this big and this much poke still amazes me. i get a min of 35mpg and thats driving it full on when get chance , my wife fiat 500 in town does 36 mpg .
its the sort of car that make you wish we had toll roads, with higher speed limits, as it a great long distance high speed cruiser , and with 40 mpg at 100 mph and a 75 litre tank you can get anywhere quickly.
The sat nav is the best on the market and is easy to use, the BW stereo upgrade is the best option you can choose.
The "thunderbirds are go ! " when you press the start button brings back the inner child all people have somewhere.
The seats are amazing, ( after 15 years of saabs i was used to comfort ) . i have spent 8 hours at the wheel and feel fine.
The dealers dont make you feel they are doing you a favour ( ALFA, AUDI. BMW, Porsche take note) by letting you have a 15 min test drive, whilst trying to sell you their stock spec cars.
The service depts pay attention to detail, and dont try yo extract as much cash as possible from you
The only down sides are the lack of 4wd so in the snow its best left at home,
I am extremely impressed with this car I have previously owned a BMW 530 diesel and whilst I agree with the previous reader that it is quicker the XF beats it hands down in every other area,it is in my opinion a most attractive car from every angle inside and out.The start up procedure is neat and impresses everybody that sees it.Like other readers I can't think of a car that has attracted more attention from friends family and onlookers than this.Mine is a standard car with the exception of a DAB radio which I would thoroughly recommend for the extra £250.I purchased mine from Marshall Jaguar at Peterborough and was most impressed with the customer service from test drive to handover and beyond.I am averaging 34 mpg at the moment but I am told by other owners that once the vehicle gets upwards of 3000 miles on it this will improve to near enough the the 40 mpg mark which is quoted. For me there is no contest between this and the BMW/Audi/Merc alternatives.
Mine was one of the first and has already covered 12000 miles. An absolute delight to drive whether cruising on the motorway or twisting and turning on country roads. This car leaves you so fresh even after 400 miles in one day. People stop and look in admiration of the design. Great value too when you consider what it has as standard equipment compared to the BMWs and Audis. Fuel consumption is very respectable. Have I been able to find anything to criticise? It is my first diesel and I find it slow to take off at roundabouts and T junctions but once moving it's fine. Maybe I'm more of a 'petrol driver'. Problems: only one when the indicators stopped ticking recently. The dealer actually claimed that XF indicators don't tick so nothing was wrong, wasting a day off the road. The fact that they had ticked for several months was clearly irrelevant. After a lot of persuation on my part they got permission to replace the instrument cluster and it was booked in again. Now it ticks as before and I'm not the idiot they made me out to be! Jaguar - you have created an outstanding car, but dealerships remain your biggest challenge. Recommendations - go for 19inch wheels - look great but not as much road noise or as harsh riding as the 20inch. For the future - I can't imagine going back to the blandness of the competitors after experiencing this car.
I have owned BMWs for the last 9 years and run a 530i se at the moment. I did not like the look of the new 5 series when it was first shown and now that I want to change my car I decided to test drive the Jaguar XF, an Audi A6, Mercedes E320 and BMW 530d. All the cars were very good but in the end the choice was between the Jag and the BMW. The Jag got the nod, expected delivery middle of August. The Jag was betted equiped, rode better and the stearing was just as good, some people don't like the looks but I love it, pick any car and you can argue that somthing is borrowed from another one, it's the whole package that counts.
I own this 530i and i love it, the style never die and the proformance you can't beat, people talk about audi's and merc's but this is something else,…
This could be a great car but is let down by shocking dealers and even worse customer service. My 2.2d suffers from a wheel vibration and the dealer…
