    My car

Mine was one of the first and has already covered 12000 miles. An absolute delight to drive whether cruising on the motorway or twisting and turning on country roads. This car leaves you so fresh even after 400 miles in one day. People stop and look in admiration of the design. Great value too when you consider what it has as standard equipment compared to the BMWs and Audis. Fuel consumption is very respectable. Have I been able to find anything to criticise? It is my first diesel and I find it slow to take off at roundabouts and T junctions but once moving it's fine. Maybe I'm more of a 'petrol driver'. Problems: only one when the indicators stopped ticking recently. The dealer actually claimed that XF indicators don't tick so nothing was wrong, wasting a day off the road. The fact that they had ticked for several months was clearly irrelevant. After a lot of persuation on my part they got permission to replace the instrument cluster and it was booked in again. Now it ticks as before and I'm not the idiot they made me out to be! Jaguar - you have created an outstanding car, but dealerships remain your biggest challenge. Recommendations - go for 19inch wheels - look great but not as much road noise or as harsh riding as the 20inch. For the future - I can't imagine going back to the blandness of the competitors after experiencing this car.

    My car

I have owned BMWs for the last 9 years and run a 530i se at the moment. I did not like the look of the new 5 series when it was first shown and now that I want to change my car I decided to test drive the Jaguar XF, an Audi A6, Mercedes E320 and BMW 530d. All the cars were very good but in the end the choice was between the Jag and the BMW. The Jag got the nod, expected delivery middle of August. The Jag was betted equiped, rode better and the stearing was just as good, some people don't like the looks but I love it, pick any car and you can argue that somthing is borrowed from another one, it's the whole package that counts.

    My car

Simply wonderful...I have been running and Audi A6 2.7TDI for 3 years and yes it is a good car...but very boring. I actually look forward to getting in and driving the XF.

Having covered 1100 miles the fuel consuption is not in the same league as the Audi but I suspect that is more to do with my right foot!

What I have been suprised about is how much fresher I feel after a long motorway trip than I did in the Audi. The road noise in much better in the Jag as is the ride, which I always found fidgety in the Audi. Great drive, wonderful looks....happy customer.

    My car

You have to compare like with like, and when you have tried to be excited by a Merc, dozed off looking at an A6 and surpressed you gag-reflex whilst looking at a 5-Series...you end up at the XF. It needs a nose job but Kylie is left in the dark by its hind quarters. Copied from an Aston? Hardly a criticism!

It is a great car, fun to start let alone drive. Mine had a few gremlins under the bonnet that needed ironing out but, when Jauguar customer service gets into their stride, that was almost an enjoyable experience.

Two tips. Buy one. Secondly, get it from Marshall's in Peterborough. If one organisation deserves the spotlight as a shining example of customer care, they are it. I would seriously consider driving half way across the UK just to get it serviced by their guys. Superb.
