    My car

I have a 2002 2.9TD model, which has done 62,000 miles. The warranty has just run out and the car blew a piston. An independant garage replaced the piston, piston rings, timing belt(parts were very expensive). Now the car won't start at all, and Kia say it will be £3-4000 to fix.

I am at my wit's end with this car. By the way, can anyone tell me why it won't start and how to solve the problem? mike@851599.com

    My car

I wish I never bought this car! I should have stayed with my Dodge Caravan, which I had brand new from 1997 until I bought the Kia in 2005.

It drinks gas, and insurance is high. They do not tell you this when you go to purchase, but check with your insurance company first. Car payments might be low, but you make it up in insurance costs. My car is rated higher than my husband's 2000 Ford Explorer 4x4 - I was shocked.

I have owned the car since July 2005 and have had new brakes fitted and new rotors put in twice! The steering is still pulling to one side. If I tell them it pulls to the right, I get it back and it pulls to the left, I have brought it in seven times already. I guess it will never be right.

Also the tyres are terrible, especially in snow and in rain - when I take off at traffic lights, they spin. We live on a hill - my caravan always made it up the hill, but the Kia did not make it half the time and we had a mild winter this year.

My sister has a 2004 Sedona and has the same problems. Also, at her 2005 New York State car inspection (at Kia), it did not pass the new state air regulations.

If you are buying to save money, you really are not because of the cost of insurance and gas.

    My car

I have just changed from a Renault Scenic and can't praise the Kia enough. The extra power, space, and practicality is excellent.

The sliding doors are superb, making life simple in car parks with three kids. The in-car DVD player keeps them occupied on short journeys, and the car is excellent for towing.

In short, to anyone thinking about buying one, don't hesitate - go for it!

    My car

I had this as a hire car for a weekend. As a drive, it makes a Ford Tansit seem responsive. It is dire in every repect. Acceleration was almost non-existent, the steering was vague, it had horrendous roll on corners, and was unstable in cross winds.

Perhaps cab drivers and those with huge families might beg to differ, but I seriously hope I never have to drive one of these machines again.
