    My car

Having owned two Mk1 Freelander TD4s previously, I thought this would be more of the same, but I could not have been more wrong.

This car is a major improvement in every way - the build quality is excellent, and in SE trim it has all the convenience features and toys that you would ever want.

It is extemely refined, comfortable and great to drive. The engine is very flexible with great torque and the car covers long distances effortlessly. Although it is significantly more expensive that the Mk1, I believe it is worth the extra money.

    My car

This is a dramatic departure from the previous model, which encompases excellent build quality, refinement levels above its position and all-round performance which is above expectation.

This vehicle defines the core values of British design and innovation and I hope it's a huge success for Land Rover.

    My car

I find some of the prior comments unbelievable - perhaps they were unlucky with the cars they got. I owned an 07 Mercedes C Class prior to this and sent it back beacuse it was too small and poor quality/finish. The F2 is so much better than the Mercedes to drive and be driven in.

Pros: driving position, all round comfort, road manners, mid-range acceleration, economy for a 2.5 tonne car, all leather seats, quietness of cabin, bluetooth phone integration and excellent Alpine audit system.

Cons: other F2 owners who seem hell bent on jumping on the Land Rover lynching mob. Perhaps its the British way...

No problems so far and none expected. I have owbed lots of cars in the past, including various prestige and this car is right up there with them. Frankly anyone who thinks otherwise has too much time on their hands searching for faults that aren't really there...

    My car

The F2 was purchased in late Dec 06.

The dealer service was appaling considering you are paying near £30k, BMW and Audi understand how to look after their customers, I wont be going back to Landrover. They must have the only dealerships that have more people at at the customer service desk than in the showroom.

Pros: driving position, economy, looks, sat nav, motorway driving, blue tooth system.

Cons: excessive engine noise, poor sudden braking, engine drive train shunt, lack of refinement, very poor low rev engine pick up, gimic start button, heated mirrors, auto lights

Problems: 1) The auto wipers failed; it took 3 days and two new windscreens and associated sensors to sort the problem. 2) Random failure of start button, particularly after stalling; no solution. 3)Eratic auto lights; no solution.

The only time I have enjoyed driving the F2 was in the snow, god knows what I was thinking of when I was taking test drives.
