    My car

I purchased a Range Rover Vogue 02 model about three months ago - I have always liked the look of these cars.

I have owned many 4x4 vehicles in the past and this has been the worst car by far that I have ever purchased - it's been nothing but trouble. Within four weeks, the electric steering wheel tilt mechanism broke, a fault with Land Rover but they would not cover any of the costs to replace (it cost me £750).

A couple of weeks later, the fan heater stopped working and the wipers stopped - again it went back to the garage. They're small repairs but still cost £230.

Soon after, the radiator had a leak which cost £350, then the battery gave up which was a further £130. There has been a loose connection for the TV screen which I managed to sort myself. This car has cost me more in three months than all the cars I have had in the past fifteen years.

Everyone I seem to speak to knows someone who have had problems with Land Rover vehicles. They are very nice to drive but so unreliable. The car is up for sale now and I am looking at purchasing a Lexus RX 300 or a Toyota Landcruiser.

Personally I don't think you can go wrong with a Japanese vehicle. I sold an Landcruiser Amazon to buy the Range Rover, and it was the worst thing I've ever done. Even speaking with various people in Land Rover they all seem to be familiar with all these problems.

To anyone looking to buy a used one I would advise not to buy one without a manufacturer's warranty.

    My car

The love story ends here! After three years of wedded bliss (apart from warped discs replaced after 15,000 miles), despite a truly pathetic dealership, we were a very happy couple - she is the best looking 4x4 by far.

The BMW engine was predictably superb, the cabin second to none. She now sits in the dealer's workshop after her transmission gave up the ghost after just 23,000 miles. Land Rover Assist, you are a joke - but at least you knew it was terminal and didn't even bother to send a mechanic.

Well, after one-and-a-half hours of waiting, the recovery vehicle arrived (he'd been parked just three miles down the road), and the driver tells me with a smile that this was the fifth one of these he'd collected recently with transmission failure! Then, when I start to read Fifth Gear reviews, there's a lot of people with the same experience.

The worst thing is that this is not something new - talking to a friend who had one of the old Range Rovers, he had four differential failures. Land Rover obviously can't make reliable transmissions or they would have done something about it by now.

So it's goodbye my beauty, you are gorgeous and sexy but unpredictable, and I can't live with that. I'm off to look at an Audi Q7. I know she's ugly but I also know she'll never let me down.

    Adieu, fair maid!

    My car

It's my first Range Rover. It's a 2006 model 3ltr TDI Vouge SE and I have covered some 10,000 miles now and loved every one of them. It makes me feel king of the road with its high-up driving position and sure-footed grip on the road.

I have had no faults or problems of any kind to date, so therefore I only have praise for Land Rover. Plus my local dealers are first class in every way.

I can honestly say thay after owning several different 4x4s in the past that this is the one for me every time.

Brilliant - well done Land Rover.

    My car

I brought a 52 plate Range Rover 3.0TD6 HSE. After 6 weeks of owning it, with 42,000 on the clock and full landrover history.Travelling at 60mph with a boat on the back and the gearbox gave up 500 miles from home on the m6 at 1.30am. After getting the car home, I had it sent to our local landrover garage. They told me that the gearbox had "cooked" and that there was nothing left to it. Total price to replace and fit new box just under £4000. I have now traded the car in because i have lost all faith in it. I was so supprised that this would happen to car of this class. And as for Landrover customer service, well that's joke on it's own. Could not even supply me with a car while they were taking 4 grand of me! very poor. This is my first Range Rover and the very last. Don't buy unless you love throwing money away.
