    My car

Have owned a 2004 model GT for a year. And in general its been a great car. Its practical, very rare and exclusive (only seen one other whilst driving mine).

Better as a fast tourer than sports car but it absolutely awesome at trans-europe trips at high speed. Engine cannot be described, just drive one and see.

Running costs are high. Does 18 mpg no matter how you drive it!!! Servicing is about 600 to 900 quid once a year. Tyres last for 12-15k, clutches on semi-automatics can fail frequently dependant on driving.

Cabin is excellent (about 6 cows worth of leather, feels like a 60k car, no doubt. Sat Nav and Centre console could be easier to use.

Reliability has been OK apart from 2 issues. Racing through the Pyrennes caused the gearbox to let go (done under warranty without question), and second issue is with the aircon as it leaks into the footwells (taken 3 attempts to fix and needed the dash out eventually).

Dealer network are superb, treat you like a Ferrari owner. Nice experience.

All in all, buy one.. little piece of exclustivity..

    My car

I've owned one for nearly three years, and it remains as good and fresh as it was when I bought it. It's a good, practical, everyday car for taking one child and two teenagers to school. It is comfortable, looks great and the equipment levels are good. The engine is superb.

Yes, running costs are high, but it's a thoroughbred which can be used as a daily driver. Servicing and parts are expensive, it drinks petrol (15mpg on a good day), and a set of front tyres will last about 10,000 miles, with the rear tyres lasting a little longer.

I have been really impressed with the reliability. I've had two problems in three years. The first was an air leak in the inlet manifold which didn't stop me using it for another three months until the routine service, and the second was self-inflicted when I left the interior light on, draining the battery (but it was difficult to restart even with a jump cable, and had to be taken back to the garage).

I'm pretty happy with it, and am going to keep it for a long time.

    My car

I have driven a Maserati 3200 for about three years now and I have had nothing but problems with it from day one.

I had expected a premium performance car and what I got was a garage-owner's dream. It is in and out constantly - mostly at great expense.

The problems range from simple things, such as the radio malfunctioning, to substantial throttle problems and the seats collapsing. We now cannot even talk about it at home because it has caused so many problems.

Yes, it looks beautiful, but please think very seriously about buying one. I ignored the warnings and it has proven very, very costly.

I would avoid it at all costs.
