Drove this car as a company vehicle for approx 6 months whilst new shape Ford Mondeo was on order.Miss it terribly since taking delivery of new car and wish had ordered the new shape Mazda 6.The Mazda had incredible smooth acceleration and power with fantastic handling with a very quiet ride. The gearbox was a little notchy at times but was probably due to me attempting changes to fast to keep up with the fast progress being made. All in all a great car that never missed a beat in almost 20000 miles that i put on the clock.
I bought my Mazda 6 just under a year ago as an ex fleet bargain with only 77k and a full service history. Shortly afterwards, the gearbox failed and fortunately Mazda had it repaired. The ride is fairly stiff (when compaired against the Peugeot 406 it replaced)and the bodywork around the rear quarterlight is very thin but the overall reliability has been fine and the stereo is superb. I agree with the reader from Lincolnshire that the MPG is always around 43 and it never fails to start first time. The dash layout is very good and there are numerous places to store cans etc. Overall, I'm very pleased with the Mazda6 and would replace it for another, perhaps the estate this time.
I have had this car from new and am very pleased with its overall performance.I have lots of comments about the smoothe ride it gives, the comfortable leather seats, the sound system, the bootsize, and the great excelleration .It's a goodlooking car.i am looking for a smaller car,but don't know what will match up to it.
Changed from my mondeo tdci sport a couple of months ago....and miss it.I was averaging about 48mpg with the ford but according to the Mazdas joke of a trip computer i am getting 39-41mpg all told not great for a diesel.I like the drivers seat to be well back as i have long legs but this left my daughter who is in a car seat behind me with no room. My other daughter who is older had no chance. There is no room to the right of the accelerator to place your foot for a stretch. I find the drivers seat not that comfortable as i am big the seat seems quite small compaired to the mondeo. Its not all bad news it drives well enough its acceleration is good sits well on the motorway, the steering is responsive and and lighter than the mondeo its a nice car to look at and has a great bose stereo.I have really tried to like this car and can see why some people like it but it just does not do it for me.
