    My car

I've had awful reliability issues with this model. I took it to a main dealer to get the AC fixed. After having the car returned from the dealer, apparently after the AC had been fixed, the AC compressor went on the car.

The car now cannot be driven unless the compressor is replaced, after the dealer replaced the AC gas. That will cost around 700 quid.

The clutch is very flaky. I was told that it was the way I drove, which is rubbish as I have driven many other cars over the 100,000 miles without any problems.

Avoid this car like the plague. It's a bad car and Mazda has bad dealerships.

    My car

I am due to change my 6 soon and not once in 3 years has my 6 coughed or splutterd never mind fail to start.I chose the mazda because of how cheap it was compaird to the new vw golf.the only probs I have had were down to the dealer.while always polite I had a few minor issues.I picked my car up brand new with scratches on the boot and both services my car has had took all day even though promised would just be couple of hours and when I complained I was told it was just being washed only to find on collection it hadn't !I even had the dealer phone me after having my car for 18 months asking me if I'd like the test drive I'd booked online, only 2 years too late!the mazda handles absoloutly fantastic for such a big car,a touch firm but I prefere that.the engine is a touch under powered but can shift when pushed, I think the 2 litre would be much better suited and most prob even more economical as I only get about 30mpg but thats with not much motorway driving even less when driven hard.I think the car a bit heavy for a 1.8 which affects mpg. the car itself has been ace,no trim rattles if even a little cheap looking but one thing that really annoys me is the windows mist up very easily in cold or wet weather this is sorted by the aircon "blast" button but at least I found out why the button was there! there is tons of room in the front and back.the grey velour seats are supprisingly easy to keep clean and the boot is huge.

    My car

I have had my Mazda 6 Katano for six months now and to be honest from week one I regretted trading my Vauxhall Omega against it. Where do you want me to start?

First I was tempted with the so called reliability of Mazda and I was very wrong. To make my comment short I have not included minor faults that I have experienced.

Air con not effective and needs gas replacement. Climate control has mind of its own and changes the direction of the air flow when in manual mode, without touching any button. The tensioners of alternator belt noisy and faulty need replacing. Catalytic Converter noisy and faulty from day one, need replacing. Front shock absorbers are noisy. Engine misfire. And the list goes on.

They all are confirmed by my local dealership after weeks of time booking and still not fixed. Their excuse is that as the parts are expensive and they require authorisation from Mazda. Customer service is IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED AND MOST UNPROFESSIONAL! I purchased my vehicle from Bolton and eventually I gave up with their attitude and tried Wigan branch, which are as bad. They are keep ignoring my calls and in the last occasion they told me that they lost my file! I would have probably made more progress if I communicated to an unknown car manufacturer in Cambodia! I have given up dealing with arrogant Mazda dealers.

    My car

I bought an ex-fleet 53 plate Diesel to replace my ageing Peugeot 406. I had considered Volvo S40, Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Vectra before I tried the Mazda 6 and was instantly taken by the seating position and quality of the cabin. Folding the rear seats was very easy and small touches like rear electric windows and the small aerial has made it very easy to run through the local carwash. Other great external touches are the design of the lights and of course the alloys. The car has returned at least 45mpg and is a great ride especially on long motorway journeys. Do beware of certain dealer service intervals. One of which topped £650, so do shop around for an approved specialist to maintain the service history. Overall I am delighted with the 6 and will have another when this is up for replacement.
