    My car

I have had my Mazda 6 Katano for six months now and to be honest from week one I regretted trading my Vauxhall Omega against it. Where do you want me to start?

First I was tempted with the so called reliability of Mazda and I was very wrong. To make my comment short I have not included minor faults that I have experienced.

Air con not effective and needs gas replacement. Climate control has mind of its own and changes the direction of the air flow when in manual mode, without touching any button. The tensioners of alternator belt noisy and faulty need replacing. Catalytic Converter noisy and faulty from day one, need replacing. Front shock absorbers are noisy. Engine misfire. And the list goes on.

They all are confirmed by my local dealership after weeks of time booking and still not fixed. Their excuse is that as the parts are expensive and they require authorisation from Mazda. Customer service is IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED AND MOST UNPROFESSIONAL! I purchased my vehicle from Bolton and eventually I gave up with their attitude and tried Wigan branch, which are as bad. They are keep ignoring my calls and in the last occasion they told me that they lost my file! I would have probably made more progress if I communicated to an unknown car manufacturer in Cambodia! I have given up dealing with arrogant Mazda dealers.

    My car

I bought an ex-fleet 53 plate Diesel to replace my ageing Peugeot 406. I had considered Volvo S40, Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Vectra before I tried the Mazda 6 and was instantly taken by the seating position and quality of the cabin. Folding the rear seats was very easy and small touches like rear electric windows and the small aerial has made it very easy to run through the local carwash. Other great external touches are the design of the lights and of course the alloys. The car has returned at least 45mpg and is a great ride especially on long motorway journeys. Do beware of certain dealer service intervals. One of which topped £650, so do shop around for an approved specialist to maintain the service history. Overall I am delighted with the 6 and will have another when this is up for replacement.

    My car

I was given this car in Nov05 with 28,000 on the clock. It is being changed for a Mondeo in 2 weeks time with 114,000 on it. It has been driven very hard indeed as you can imagine! Excellent equipment, ride, power everthing that has been mentioned previously by other reviewers and no niggling breakdowns! However ,the 75000 mile major service cost £1400 which seemed a little expensive, closely followed by a clutch and flywheel which cost about the same. Apparently it has a 2 part flywheel which goes faulty and takes the clutch out. Other makes have this problem as well with the 2 part flywheel. At 90000 the engine managemnt light came on and despite numerous visits to the main dealer, and a number of parts replaced, it still comes back on after 300 miles. Also it started jumping out of 5th gear, a known Mazda fault that they fixed free of charge despite the high milage. For private buyers - a superb car but get rid before 75000 miles! All in all a very good long distance cruiser that did evrything I asked of it. My new Mondeo will have a lot to live up to !

    My car

I bought this car from new in October 2006. I don't [as yet] have a problem with the gears or struts as others have spoken about, what I do have a problem with is corroded paintwork on the brake discs and calipers. The garage I bought it from said Mazda have known about it since the 55 plates but seemingly have done nothing to rectify the problem. I bought this car because I have two children to "taxi" about. The car is quite "heavy" and difficult to park, because there is a reflection that comes off the windscreen, difficult to judge out of the rear window too. The car is brilliant on a motorway, very quiet and cruise control superb. Spacious and looks good inside and out {except when your brake discs corrode] This car is great and I would recommend it. Mazda just need to sort out the corrosion problem!
