Prior to owning the Mazda 6 I had spent my driving life as a Ford user. After some really bad service with my last Ford I decided to switch. Went for the Mazda due to the reports on the new models, equipment levels and the costs.
Best car I have ever owned, great to look at, great to drive, the standard equipment levels far outway its competitors. Extremely comfortable to drive but most of all brought the fun back to my motoring.
I have had it now for two years and other than servicing and one recall I have suffered no problems at all.
The standard of service from the dealers was exceptional as well, nothing is too much trouble, a big change from my Ford days.
Overall a great car and great service to match.
Model I have is the 1.8S model. Registered in July 03, have now covered 52K with only requiring tyres, brakes and currently awaiting new sunvisor. Very odd, but the visor won't stay up, which is annoying.
This has been an excellent car, although have two areas for improvement, road noise on motorways and interior quality, which needs bringing up in quality. Have looked quickly at a face lifted version, which I am led to believe has addressed these areas of concern. One question though, why have Mazda not updated their web site for the 6?
Considering replacement vehicle at the moment, with a slightly increased budget perhaps a TS2 2.0D or a facelifted Vectra SRI? Passat is a possibility, but although has a large capacity boot, is restricted by small apperture-no hatch!
I have owned this car for 12 months from new. It has only done 9500 miles and I have had nothing but trouble.
First it was recalled for an oil leak, then it was recalled for a engine modifcation, then I had to complain about the bodywork, ie the paintwork and the vinyl on the door is coming away. However, the bigest problem is when the engine blew up and it spent six weeks off the road getting a new engine.
I have asked for a new car but have heard nothing from Mazda or the dealer. So any advice would be appreciated.
This is my company car and I have had it from new (about 6 months ago).
I've driven about 15,000 miles - mixture of motorway and urban - and I'm averaging around 52mpg. If I'm light with the throttle, I get even more.
It's a joy to drive, the car has been faultless. The sound system is excellent. The dashboard at night looks great. The car is a dark blue and I think is a very good-looking car.
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
Just completed 100k miles in my company Mondeo which I've had for just over two years and am still delighted with it. No rattles, no squeaks and never…
Bought car 2009 at 40k miles on clock. Since then I've had to replace both rear electronic brake calipers, to be fair this is probably wear and tear…
