We have two almost identical Mazda Demio 1300's in our family. One purchased with 5K on the clock and the other with 49K. Both have now done 60K. Both on original exhaust systems and both have yet to develop any fault at all. The 1300 is a bit low on hill climbing power but you really can get 50 MPG with care. The steering is delightfully light and the car handles very securely. The clutch is rather sudden on both cars but you eventually get used to it. Servicing at the agent is a rip off and an oil and filter change are not easy for the home mechanic.
