    My car

All the comments here are correct - the new shape MX-5 is excellent. My girlfriend and I are lucky enough to have one as a second car (first car BMW 1 series) and its proved to be great fun. The first car doesn't get a look in now!

The build quality is superb and the drive always puts a smile on your face. I've had a couple of hairy moments when I've been a bit heavy with my right foot around corners but the car is so easy to control its never a problem.

We did consider some other cars - the Mini Cooper convertible and the Peugeot 207 CC but none came close to the drivability of this car.

If you are looking for a very competitively priced 2 seater I'd suggest at least trying one.

    My car

Great car. I previously owned a 3 series convertible and thought I would 'downgrade' to an MX-5 to reduce running costs. Not only have I reduced my running costs significantly- but I now have a better car.

However, only buy if (like me) you do not have a family to consider- unless you plan to use this as a second car.

    My car

I have owned this car for eight months now and even in the muddy winter, I still love driving it.

It looks fantastic and is really comfortable with a perfect, snug driving position. The only slight problem is that the seat does not go quite far enough back for me (at over 6ft).

My partner and I spent two months touring Europe in the summer and managed to fit all our luggage in the car without too many problems.

The highlights of the trip included reaching an indicated 130mph on the autobahn and a lap of the Nurburgring. The handling of the car is superb and in the dry it has so much grip and balance. In the wet, at least in rural Northumberland where we live, the car will slide its tail very easily in tight turns in low gears. It is easily controllable and great fun!

In 15,000 miles, we have had one service at a very reasonable £90. Other than the 2.0-litre version, I cannot think of a better car for two 22-year-olds without kids. If you can live with two seats, buy one!

    My car

i have just bought a Mk3 MX-5. it is fantastic! i owned the Mk2 on a S-reg for 3 years and it cost me nothing in parts only a sevice every year. when i pick up my new car i was like a young child on christmas day is was so happy and im still getting the same feeling every time i get in it. it drives so well (like the old one)going round twisty country bends is such good fun the way the car handles is fantastic. i test drove the 2ltr with 17in alloy wheels and i thought that the car bashed about to much in town. so i opted for the 16in which handles so much better.

overall the car is brilliant great run about. the fuel comsuption is good as is the boot space and storage.

if you thinking of buying this car well dont just buy it trust me it will be the best thing you will ever do!!!!
