i have owned this car for 4 months and it is the best car i have driven. i holds the road extremely well and will turn on a sixpence.I do a lot of motor way driving and even for a 1600 i have to take my foot of the accelerator when i reach over 100 which it reaches very easily.you dont realise how faxt your going. its like driving a go-cart. only fault is the small boot but the other benifits make up for it
Owned this car for two years and it suffered many problems. Reliabilty check for Mazda! New Engine at 50K, gear box. The handelling is the only good thing about this car, the comfort is rough at most times, steering feels vague at times. And for a 1.8 25mpg well it just wont do! Styling is very femanine. I was dissapointed untill I bought my Bmw Z3, I would recommend the Bmw Z3 anytime!!
I'm in my early 60s but this is my first sports car (though I did previously own a Saab convertible). It is a joy to drive, at any speed, on any road. It is hugely practical and a great shopping car, even. Around town it reminds me of the car on which I learned to drive - the Morris Minor (don't laugh, it's high praise). Fantastic fun on B roads, rock-solid stable on motorways. I drove from Manchester to Kent and arrived fresh as a daisy. Lovely leather seats, perfect driving position. No problem getting in or out even for the fat and old(ish). Hood seems 100% weatherproof. On the downside: low 30s mpg, same as the much heavier Saab, and not to be recommended in snow and ice. Reliability has been perfect and, if this car doesn't outlast me, I'll get another one.
What a fun car to drive - even for a six-footer.
I agree with other reviewers about wet weather - the car doesn't always feel safe. The hood is easy to put up or down, the radio is good, but the boot is too small for full set of golf clubs.
Watch the petrol consumption around town. I am only getting about 27mpg. Insurance is cheap, though. However, the 1.6 seems underpowered - my old Seat Ibiza was faster!
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
Amazing car, once driven, never forgotton, forget all the pretenders like BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK, they will never have the passion of a Porsche
I love this car! Handling is great, its fun to drive and even reasonably practical!
