This being my 15th Mazda, I'm not unfamiliar with their benefits and therefore the reason for my purchase of a new Premacy Sport in September 2004.
Whilst it does not handle as well as the 626 I had before, it is far better than the likes of a Scenic and the build quality is faultless. The fuel consumption is not the best, but it's such a great all-rounder that you can forgive it the odd blemish.
I would recommend a Mazda to anyone with confidence - they will not be disappointed!
Diesel engine is generally quiet, very quiet at cruising speeds. Plenty of torque means relaxed driving on motorways.
Fuel consumption 48mpg to 52mpg, good comfortable driving position, good headroom for anyone over 6' 3". Solid build no rattles.
Mazda have addressed the handling issues on post 02 (Mk2) versions. The five-seater is very flexible
