I have owned this car for about a month now and I am absolutely delighted. I do about 30,000 miles each year.
They have really improved the interior quality with this face-lifted model and made it more engaging to drive, without losing that feeling of stability that was always its trademark.
I looked at this car against the Saab 9-3, Audi A4, BMW 320d and Jaguar X-Type, and although all these cars had great strengths, none of them seemed as complete as the Merc. It ended up being an easy choice for me.
My only criticisms are that the engine noise is too intrusive at low speeds (especially when cold) and I initially found the computer difficult to negotiate.
Well done Mercedes Benz... I just love this car!
Overall it's nice car to drive and own, brilliant on the motorway, with good acceleration - despite the noise.
My three main problems with it are:
1. A small boot, with no folding seats 2. A noisy diesel engine, not up to class standard, with lots of noise and vibration at low revs 3. It leans a lot on bends

Owned for 1 year, as family runabout Pros good size, general build quality, powershift gearbox, good to drive, low costs Cons handling slighly…
Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
