Moved from an X5 to this one. With three kids this is much more practical, and highly recommended.
Unbelievable that no other estates are offered with folding booster seats in the rear. Also the reverse row in the back are genuine seats.
The diesel is fine, though Mercedes should drive the BMW 535d Touring, and offer a similar engine.
Active cornering xenon lights are inactive, first trip to the garage did bring any relief.
Overall a joy to ride, a bit soft though, engine a bit loud in the city, but very practical in daily use, and great on the motorway.
After 2000k and mixed use, the average mpg is 28, not bad.
Who did ever decide to put the rear window wiper at such an awkward place?
I have had the automatic version of the E200 Estate for just over a year and I am delighted with it.
The service department at the dealership is excellent but I found the sales side rather arrogant. I collected the car from Stuttgart which was a pleasant and enjoyable introduction to the car.
The E200 is well built, reliable (so far), and extremely practical. I was concerned that it might be underpowered, however, although not fast off the mark it is adequate for today's driving conditions. A very good car.
Now completed some 7500 miles and have worked out fuel consumpton to be about 23mpg.
So far I've had no trouble in any way.
The dealer has been very considerate. Its first service is due next month.
The engine is now a wonder, very smooth and no fuss. Fuel is expensive but I try to put up with that as I do need the space of an estate and enjoy the effortless motoring.
I owned an ML 500 in Australia and was sorry to have to get rid of it owing to our return to the UK. That was one of the best cars for sand and gravel I have driven.
I hope you find these comments usefull.
Great car. It's a shame that, in the 6 months since I bought the car, it's had a flat battery twice & has been in the dealers 3 times to fix the electrics. The last time was for a software upgrade which does not seem to have solved the problems.
