    My car

    The comfort, style and sheer driveability of this long wheel base S-Class makes it difficult to see why anyone would go for the standard wheel base model.

    The LWB model is not much longer. It is smooth beyond belief, grips the road like a sports car and is almost effortless to drive. Add these qualities to its fuel efficiency and this car is a world beater!

    Recommended extras are: nappa leather, seat heating and cooling, rear side window blinds, 6-CD changer, telephone prewiring and rear-seat fridge.

    The 320 Cdi lwb S-Class is just about the perfect car.

    My car

    A great car to drive, offset by high manufacturer servicing costs.

    The diesel engine is a joy with silky smooth acceleration and no noise difference to the petrol model.

    Suspension is great at high speed, though around town can feel too hard. Adjusting the settings makes little difference.

    I have owned three BMW 7-series models previously, would I return? Probably not!
