Long-legged luxury, quick and nimble for such a heavy car.
Electronic aids flatter the driver.
It wants for nothing. MB have thought of just about everything (except a 12 volt accessory point) including an input for an external audio source like an Ipod.
I HAVE AN '05 SL 500. 18IN WHEELS. PARKTRONIC, BI-XENONS. DVD COMMAND SYSTEM. OTHERWISE, IT'S STANDARD (US) SPEC, WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH A "FULL HOUSE" VEHICLE.
THE CAR RUNS GREAT...VERY QUIET, NO WIND NOISE WHEN THE ROOF IS UP. VERY ECONOMICAL (RELATIVELY), AS IT GIVES ABOUT 24MPG ON THE OPEN ROAD AT BETWEEN 70 TO 80 MPH.
QUALITY OF BUILD IS SUPERB. NOT EVEN THE SLIGHTEST HINT OF A RATTLE, EVEN WHEN DRIVING ON VERY UNEVEN SURFACES, AS US ROADS TEND TO BE IN THE COLDER CLIMES.
PRICE IS VERY GOOD...IN GBP, WORKS OUT AT ABOUT 49,000....OUTSTANDING VALUE!
HOWEVER, THERE IS NO "SERVICE PLAN" WITH THE CAR, WHICH WOULD MAKE LIFE EASIER.
DISLIKES: ALTHOUGH THE BRAKES WORK VERY WELL, ESPECIALLY IN WET CONDITIONS, THE BRAKE FEEL IS AWFUL. MERC SHOULD THROW SENSOTRONIC OUT THE WINDOW. ALSO, THE "FAKE WOOD" TRIM IN THE VEHICLE LOOKS CHEAP: MERC SHOULD GIVE AN ALUMINIUM TRIM OPTION.

Amazing car, once driven, never forgotton, forget all the pretenders like BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK, they will never have the passion of a Porsche
I love this car! Handling is great, its fun to drive and even reasonably practical!
