I brought a 1.4 3dr Mini One hatchback in January 2008. I upgraded getting the Pepper pack and also added several other trims. Without the pack the One model is pretty basic. I recommend getting the TLC package too, as for £150 its unlimited service for 5 years or 50,000 miles which is outstanding value. Plus if you sell the car it stays with the car. It handles the road great, corners too but you can feel the bumps in the road. It’s a 6 speed gear box and you do need to get some speed before it really moves. The car itself is quite technical and bleeps at you when it either wants something (oil, fuel, etc) or is warning you of something (freezing temps, faults, etc) which can get a bit annoying. However with all the gadgets and gizmos they have a tendency to go wrong. My air bag sensors and leads failed after 10 days of collecting (brand new) but were replaced under warranty. Bit disappointing to say the least. I’ve also had to have my central locking reset as I couldn’t open the passenger door remotely. I have been told by other people since that Mini’s can have a tendency to have faults!! It has dampened my spirits about Mini but it is a great looking car and you do feel like you have real quality around you compared to other cars. I would recommend this model, especially as a bit of fun. It’s not a practical car, as there is neither boot space nor rear seat space. I would say overall defiantly a car for the weekend!
