My car

After nearly 5 years from new this car is difficult to easily replace. Good economy 45-55+mpg, cheapish road tax and acceptable insurance costs with great reliabilty and friendly dealer service has been pleasantly easy. The interior is sturdy but bland with a nice mix of grey and silver shades but the seats click, rattle and shake..... The AMT auto (6 speed) isn't the best but handy in traffic or from standstill and it's simply a soft nudge of the lever between modes and manually changing gear with no clutch pedal pushing so remains nicely convenient. Zesty 3 cylinder diesel engine, spacious, comfy cabin and the boot is ok for everyday needs. A little more equipment would have need nice and safety aids/airbag count is low to todays standards. Overall a dull but good car to recommend and enough but not too many around.

I own a 1.3 with AMT transmission

It's good on the road for the price with nice nippy handling and cruise control that zips along on the motorway nicely. nice to have air con, alloys, fog lights, steering wheel controls and cruise controls all rolled in at 1 fixed price.

down sides - the engine is noisy when idling, making a taptaptap sound and the AMT transmission isn't great, lurching as the car ponderously changes gear. I suppose that's the price you pay for manual fuel efficiency in an automatic gearbox these days.

Steering and handling ok though not a car for lots of corners! Zesty 3-cylinder diesel, spacious, comfy cabin and the boot is ok for everyday needs though folding and tumble rear seats too awkward. City car essentials equipment though no electric mirrors and safety aids/airbag count is poor. Overall a dull but good car to recommend and plenty but not too many around.

My car

I traded a 52 plate Amera Tino in December and after initially looking for a Nissan Note as a direct replacement stumbled across a Mitsubishi Colt at Browns of Grimsargh. I used to work for Auto Trader magazine and knew the dealership (my present company has their 4x4's serviced there. that aside the dealership were magnificent in levels of service and customer care.

My sceptical wife was immediately put at ease and after a reassuring test drive went ahead with the purchase. The car is a belter, if you want searing pace and lightening speed look elsewhere (or get the CZT) but i own the base model CZ1 in a 58 plate. I get well over 50 to a gallon, 40 quid to fill up (which i now do about once a month)it drives around town like a dream, loads of leg room (Tall wife) and my son loves it. Our family is extending soon and i have thought about a bigger car, i just cannot bear to let go of this, there's enough space for day to day shopping and days out and with the petrol and car tax/insurance savings we are making i'll just hire a car for holidays.

A great little car and believe me Mitsubushi's are very very reliable
