    My car

I have owned this car for 2 years and enjoyed the experience. It has not been completely without faults. The engine management warning light comes on periodically but it runs fine. Mitubishi quoted a lot even to just to diagnose the fault. Then to justify the expense they frightened me with massive quotes for what they might find. Our friendly local mechanic, who lives in the real world, suggested to ignore the warning light as the car starts no problem, runs well, gives good mpg and correct CO2, so there can't be much wrong with it! I've only changed the oil & filter a couple of times at home at minimal cost. On the postive side the bodywork is like new (7 years old and rarely cleaned) in the recent bad snow and ice we could go anywhere with 4 wheel drive engaged. It feels safe and well planted on the road. Engine pulls strongly and I think it has a satisfying raspy exhaust note. Take care not to buy just before an expensive service. Cambelt change is in the hundreds. Luckily it was done just before I got it. The previous owner had also forked out for high quality new tyres and manufacturers exhaust at huge expense. Also spark plugs cost £250 to change! (you can't easily do this at home - which is why I won't bother until it really needs it; regardless of what the service schedule says). In summary, despite it's shortcomings it's strangely satisfying to own and drive. Nice and tall for good visability. Tough and workmanlike. Soft roader it ain't.

    My car

Got this car and love it. Always wanted 4 wheel drive as have quite a dodgy drive to work especially in winter, but most were too expensive. Bought when ending pinin so got lots knocked off price making it affordable. Love driving it on and off road though dont do long journeys but could imagine being pricey on fuel as it is very thirsty. Great during the floods. Wouldnt touch Misubushi for services as sooooooo expensive so go to a local good garage which use approved parts. Less than a fifth of the price for most services and general maintainance. Tax extortionate! Overall lovely

    My car

This car has had some poor reviews but having owned a 2.0 3 door Mirage for five years it has proved to be very reliable and not expensive to maintain. It has only done 29,000 miles in that time and has not yet required tyres.

The engine is smooth and gutsy for a 4x4. The ride is firm but not uncomfortable and is excellent offroad due to the selectable 4x4 which is not available on all models and the car is run usually in RWD mode.

If you need a small 4x4 with great off road capability, they don't get much better.
