I disagree with some of your comments.
The 2.2 diesel (112bhp) is a refined and powerful engine for the size of the car.
It is a good looking car, is crammed with standard goodies and has ample safety equipment.
My only slight criticism is the quality of the interior plastics and the clearly late addition of the awkward rear centre seat belt.
I have recently owned Astra and Focus diesels and the Almera is equal to or better than both in most areas. It's good to drive, cheap (especially pre-registered) and reliable.
