    My car

This is better to drive and better equipped than the last Micra but build quality leaves a lot to be desired - for example poorly fitting interior trim, rattles and transmission whine.

The paint finish is also not as good as on older vehicles.

    My car

I have owned this car from new and practically from day one we have had problems.

These range from schreeching windows, ill-fitting trim and a noisy engine, culminating in a complete engine rebuild at only 18,000 miles. The car was repaired at the Nissan dealer, whose level of service left something to be desired.

This is our second Nissan Micra - the older model is still used daily having covered 97,000 miles with few problems - something which I am sure the newer model will not complete.

In retrospect, having the engine rebuilt rather than renewed was a mistake I will pay for at resale as I am sure I will not be able to make a private sale.

Would I recommend this car? No thank you. I am in the market for a new car and it certainly will not be a Nissan.

    My car

This car replaced a faullty brand new VW Polo TDI. I have had the car since the end of October 2004 and think it is great.

It is really easy to drive and park. I get between 40 and 45mpg around town and anything from 44-55mpg on the motorway. The car surprises me with it's adaptability. When I had to put in a massive box in the back I just dropped the back seats down and it just slotted in.

I find it very comfortable to drive and be a passenger on long journeys. The engine seems to pick speed up quickly - you are doing around 65pmh before you know it and you would be up to 90mph if you were not being careful. the car has a top speed of 106mph which I would never try to do.

The car is very good quality and the seats are great. The model I have has the keyless entry and start up which is great, it is good when your hands are full with bags etc. You just touch the handle and the door opens. The five door model is excellent, offering plenty of room for passengers.

I would recommend this car. People I work with underestimate it but are really impressed once there have had a trip in it then say I would like one aswell.

Great hatchback, well done Nissan Sunderland.
