I bought this car 18 months ago and being my 5th car i'v had I can say thats its the best i'v owned. Its a pleasure to drive, handles really well and responsive engine. However I have had a few problems which include : A driveshaft snapping on me, over-heating due to faulty thermostat, alternator packed up, oil pressure swith leaking, king-pin joint complete arm replaced. This seems quite bad but considering im 3k off 160k, its not to bad. The engine is bullet proof. Iv had no ploblems in cold mornings, starts first time. Insurance is very reasonable aswell, im 22 and I only pay £500 fully comp. Not to bad on a 150bhp car. To be honest I'd recommend this car to anyone, whether your looking for a strong reliable car to run into the ground - becasuse it will go forever. Or a family car, plenty of room in the back and spacious boot. Standard comes with Aircon, cd changer, elec/windows/mirrors/sun-roof,computer stating mpg etc... Im considering in changing the primera for something different though now. Maybe a v6 of some sort. It has been an epic car since iv had it, and they can be picked up next to nothing. There a real under-estimated car and not many around. So be unique and but a GT.
i bought this i.8s primera 3 years old with 30k on clock.i've been dogged by electrical problems, abs sensors, coil packs etc.cabin build quality quite poor,a ferocious appetite for front tyres, tracking adjusted many times but no better. The nearest dealer hurst in belfast, what can i say,the only circus in ireland with a concrete floor..... needless to say its the first and last nissan i will ever buy.
Excellent. what more can i say ? converted to lpg does 300 miles for 50litres of gas at 50p per litre. only converted cos i don't like queuing up at garages. i drive 20000 miles a year and NO problems . this is my 2nd primera (the other one a 1994 1.6 circuit)bought this one on the trouble free record of the 1st. even the factory fitted rado gives a good sound.servicing is cheap and regular for me (about every 6 months) as i said at the outset EXCELLENT
I own a nissan primera 20td,year 1997.although the exterior has little rust, mechanically its given me a few problems. Also the drive on it is rather rugid. I have not long put it through its taxi test to bring it up to a safe standard but am alredy experiencing afew mechanical problems a thousand miles later. The turbo is working to its full potential meaning loss of power, also changed the suspension leg and bushes. Maybe cars at end of its life at this age? Will be more careful about what car I chose next. But it hasnt put me off buying a nissan.

Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
