I picked up my car yesterday (13/07/07) - it was well worth the three-month wait.
I have totally fallen in love with it already! I found it very comfortable to drive - I like the high seats and the view fom the cabin.
The only drawback is the rear view, but with rear parking sensors that's not really a problem.
I love the looks inside and out - as I said before, I'm totally in love with it.
Had our Qashqai since end of march and have covered 2800 miles. Can recommend it to anyone to go get one(waiting list though). I have three kids under ten including a newborn and it copes well with all there required equipment for going out and about. Its suprising how much will go in the boot. Recommend the glass roof option. Seats are very comfy. Its only been released four months and has an owners club already. www.qashqaiclub.co.uk
A 1.5 dCi Acenta was not available at Glynn Hopkins, St Albans, so I test drove the 1.6 petrol Acenta and the 1.5 diesel Tekna. I drive an X-Trail and need to replace it with a vehicle with a large boot (rear seats up), high profile tyres and high ground clearance (needs to do tracks and grass verges), 50mpg and a range of 500 miles. I have a back problem (three back operations) and I am over six foot tall, so, for comfort, I need plenty of leg room and for the drivers seat to raise as high as possible.
The Qashqais I drove were very comfortable, responsive and easy to drive. Even with my drivers seat fully back, I could sit comfortably in the seat behind with just enough leg and head room. The rear view is not brillient for reversing, but reversing sensors/camera resolve the problem. The boot is large and well shaped. Both 1.6 and 1.5 engines would have all the power that I would need, but I prefered the 1.5 diesel. Did not like the the large rear view mirror in the Tekna, it obscured vision to the left. An attractive, solid and well built car, that in 2 wheel drive will handle urban humps and pot holes with ease. I have a 1.5 diesel Acenta on order. (I don't think that Euro 5 is anything to worry about, with this car).
Test drove the Qashqai this afternoon, the Acenta 2.0 litre automatic.Fell in love with the looks, both inside and out.The seats are blissfully comfortable [ I suffer chronic back pains..slipped disc for 30 years].At last perfect driveable leg room for my 34" legs..Im 5'10. Only went in to look, have ordered it in Fired Iron with chocolate/orange for the inside...yummy!I need good seat height as suffer arthritus in the knees as well as the bad back [ poor lil ol me! ] Its easier to get into than my Honda CRV , which Im allowing hubs to have..more leg length, more seat comfort, easier entry [ as long as you duck your head!!!] So easy to drive, no worries at all, cant wait till end of July delivery.IM IN LOVE WITH MY NEW CAR ..TOTALLY!
