Having taken delivery of the car last Friday (16th February)my wife and i spent the weekend in the Cotswolds, using A & B roads only.
The fuel consumption presently suggests a return of around 37.5 mpg having put 500 miles on the clock, and the handling has been suprisingly taut and predictable on what is a fairly tall, small car.
Interior space is extremely good-we managed the journey with a weekend's luggage and two Dogs and still didn't feel at all cramped or short of room-great when, like me you are tall (6'3") and showing all the signs of the early onset of middle aged spread!!
Performance is not going to be high on the list of reasons for anybody to procure the 1.6 petrol engined version, although a satisfactory result is easily achieved, with overtaking and cruising at 70 presenting no problem once the engine has been wound up and the transmission "worked".
Interior spec is very good-the Acenta version comes as standard with "bells and whistles" including auto wipers, auto headlights, parking sensors and more, whereas if ,like me you specify the Sat Nav system, rear parking camera is the norm!
My first impressions were positive enough to encourage me to consider moving from a 3.0 litre Jag "S" Type Auto (written off in January's storms)and following a good test drive performance coupled with exemplary service from Murley Nissan in Warwick the deal was sealed-furthermore,my wife is swapping her Merc C Class Coupe for a similar model this Thursday!
