this car is great, ive had it for just 6 months but sadly have to get rid due to finances.great on the motorway, off road and pulls like tractor with a turbo charger .i had 1.5 tons of wheat on the back towing through mud and it still came out looking like a pimps car.full of extras and the fastest 4x4 ive driven 10 times better than the old 2.7 98 se i had before it but both as reliable.got to say one bad thing ,the heated seats are not great but who cares its sexual.
Bought my Terrano 2.7 SE+ Auto in 2001 with 12 miles on the clock. Right from day one, the car was pulling to the left. Nissan dealer told me all Terranos are like that, they simply follow the camber of the road because they got big wobbly tyres. I wrote to Nissan UK, and to be fair, they had someone called me back within a week and offered to check the car again by a Nissan dealer of my choice. Still couldn't rectify the fault so now I just live with it.At 6k miles, the speedometer got stuck at 70 mph, whether the car was on the motorway or at a stand still. ATHe speedo unit was replaced. At around the same time, had a broken oil seal from the drive shaft.Had that fixed under warranty. In 2005, the exhaust broke into 2 bits (the car had never gone off road) and costed me £350 to have a new rear section replaced. 2 years ago, the ABS sensor on one of the front wheels had a fault. Another expensive trip to the dealer - £450 this time. Having said all that, the Terrano is a good work horse, we have 2 growing boys, a very energetic westie and 4 bikes. I also used the car to carry all the building materials over a period of 6 months when we built an extension. Will I buy another Nissan? Don't know but I know there are worse cars out there.............
I have a 2005 LWB 2.7TD SE. Water has leaked in to the boot since it was a year old, numerous attempts to put it right. Electrical issues, poor build quality (cheap) and not very nice to drive on the road. Poor service from Nissan Customer service and dealers, would not buy Nissan again.
My Nissan Terrano 53 plate was a Xmas present from my husband in Dec 06. It is brilliant for towing a horse trailer and off road. It's had a new clutch fitted, drive shaft on gear box, clutch housing renewed, a clunking noise when reversing and brakes failed. Just been told ABS has failed so needs renewing. Luckily we took extended warranty and some faults are garage fixing quality so now goes to Nissan garage. I keep coming back from shopping with a new dent or scratch -do people hate it?? I love it to bits and don't want to have to part with it, but can I trust it???
