Where do I start? Firstly, how I got the car, after discounting double cab pickups because of insurance issues, looked at Mitsubishi Shogun Sport. Dealer service=Terrible.
Went to Nissan dealer to look at XTrail. Dealer service=excellent. Xtrail was too much like a large car. Saw the Terrano! Later tracked down 11mnth old black SVE, test drove, and bought!!!!
For a 2tonne dieselcar, it shifts!!!! The turbo realy does the business, although I have to be aware of turbo lag! The only negative point I can say about the car is that the instruments look awfull, however, at night it redeems itself. Very clear and easy to read.
Masses of space inside, a mountainous driving position, visibility through the rear is a bit restricted but huge door mirrors counter this. I haven't had the car long but already it's turning heads. Everybody likes it. Even the bouncers at my local nightclub gave it their approval!!!
I LOVE IT!!!!!!
It's good!
I have a 1997 model. Mine's the SE, which has an electric sunroof and 4 electric windows.
The 2.4 petrol engine is very good to go, is quiet and easilly serviceable.
My mpg averages around 21.7 which is not bad as I live on the Isle of Man, motorway driving would increase this figure. The car handles well in all conditions and even climbed out of a river without selecting all-wheel drive.
There is no diff lock but you do get a low range of offroad gears, which I have seldom used.
The power steering is light, my wife drives this car without any problems and she is only 5'2", the boot space is very good with the third row of seats folded (bench type), the centre row are a 50/50 split.
This is an all round excellent car, good offroad and very good onroad. No faults to mention.
