I've owned this car now for just over a week and am very impressed with what I've seen so far. Having just had a 2yr old Audi A6 I expected the Nissan to be a sizeable step down in quality but that's far from the case. OK so the materials aren't quite up to Audi's standard but it's very well screwed together and has a comprehensive list of equipment as standard.
The satnav is excellent as too is the built-in Bluetooth carphone.
The engine is responsive and quiet for a diesel the ride is significantly better than the Audi, body roll is limited too for such a tall vehicle. The gearchange is smooth and initial MPG over the 1st 1000 miles is in the mid 30's which I expect to rise as the engine loosens up.
The boot is vast and the clever underfloor storage is a real bonus. Headroom front and rear is fine contrary to some reports, rear legroom is adequate. The centre rear headrest is full height despite what the guy said in one of the previous reviews.
Overall I'm delighted with my purchase so far and would recommend to anyone as a practicle and comfortable family car.
This is an absolutely fantastic car. It is totally different from the last model (apart from the looks). All the the niggles with the old model have gone.
The six-speed auto gearbox is a dream, it drives well and the build quality is excellent.
I was not happy with my previous X-Trail but this is so much better. I cannot fault it any way. Well done, Nissan.
My dealer is good too!
i have driven the nissan x-trail aventura+ down as the aventura explorer i am really pleased with this car and i now own one i would never consider the honda crv because it is to ugly slow and plasticy i was at the traffic lights the other day and there was a honda 2.2 litre crd engine and he tried his best to keep up with me but failed and we were going down side roads and the x-trails handling and comfort kept me well ahead and i love the idea of having 2 modes comfort and sport mode the inside of the x-trail is very well built and hi tech as well as simple i like the idea of having a rear reversing camera so when you flick it into reverse a picture of whats behind you comes up on the screen i would also never choose the toyota rav4 partly because it is too small and slow in the interior it is bland and it is the same on the outside.
Very nice car the New X-Trail. But it has one big flaw. And its a massive one. Try and get three people on the rear bench. The width is fine. But the head rest in the middle seat makes it impossible for any one over 5'4" to sit comfortably. The head restraint does not go high enough to be against the back of the head of any one taller. It therefore not safe and its extremely uncomfortable for any normal sized teenager or adult. Dont believe me? Just go try it for yourself. I find it amazing that such a family targeted car can be so flawed. So Nissan has just lost a sale.
