I have just waved bye bye to my 206cc, after some kind lady driver drove in the back of it and wrote it off! Anyway... I loved this car. I went for a Green one and it was a real eye catcher. It has a very roomy boot (with the roof up) and for me was very reliable. It always atarted first time, never broke down and the hood never stuck! I think i was lucky, I had a lot of people approach me in the street to say they had had such problems with theirs. The downside was the roof would occasionally leak. Very badly. The dealer quoted me £800 to change the seals! I didn't bother, the car stopped leaking - odd. All in all it was a lovely car, reliable, safe feeling and I will miss it :-(
I bought my 206cc second hand and opted for the diesel model due to rising running costs. I love the look and sporty feel of the car with the leather interior. It has great features such as automatic lights and wipers. The drive is more fun than comfortable. Being the diesel it is quite noisy and when driving at high speed there is a rattle from the roof attachments. Get 500 miles out the tank. Useless if you take passengers or need to do a large shop. Overall a fun and cheap car to drive.
I had a Peugeot 206cc from new. This car had no delivery milage. Strange, because they are suppose to be road tested before you having the car. I had no end of problems with my car! I had to have a new engine, new suspension, new gear box, new struts, 3 new coil packs. That was in the first 2 months of me owning it!
When I asked the garage how could this be that i have had so many things wrong with my car they told me it was probably a friday car! Charming. The list goes on. When I wrote to the director of Peugeot he wrote to me and said i couldn't have a new car as mine was new - it had been re built.
I am now buying a Ford ST 2. Hopefully i will have better luck with my new car but I would never buy a peugeot again!!!!!!
I had a test run in a 206 and didn't like it one bit. I was already very wary of peugeot cars because I owned a 607 for two years, although it was only four years old and it had full service history it cost me a fortune in garage bills. It had a v6 engine and every spark plug was fitted with a special coil, every coil failed within three months of my buying the car (and each time I was towed to the nearest peugeot garage). Then the crank shaft pulley wheel bearings failed (this drives the belt that runs the water pump, alternator etc.) Then the timing belt slipped (belt not due for renewal for another 25,000 miles) this bill cost me £2950, when I got the car back the air conditioning system wasn't working (it was before the repairs) the peugeot garage told me that a pipe was fractured although it wasn't anything to do with the work that they carried out (even though they had to remove the engine from the car)???? Do not buy Peugeot be warned!!!
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
Amazing car, once driven, never forgotton, forget all the pretenders like BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK, they will never have the passion of a Porsche
I love this car! Handling is great, its fun to drive and even reasonably practical!
