I have driven many 206cc's when I worked for a Peugeot dealer and thoroughly enjoyed them, I have recently changed from an Old shape Tigra which loved and thoroughly enjoyed it is much missed although I love my 206cc the brakes drive me mad, the only way to cure the squealing is to replace the brake pads, cheap non genuine pads tend to make them squeal as they aren't chaffered correctly, so this is my next job, I have checked the fuel consumption and am only putting £5.00 more a week in so on the hold it is not bad on consumption.I'm really pleased with my buy at present
I bought this car second hand from a "reputable" peugot garage in west wickham in July 2006. It has been trouble since I bought it. It was interesting to see the comments made regarding squealing brakes. I had to insist the garage take the car and do something after one month of buying it. When the rainy season started - so did the problem with the leaking roof. It went back to the garage again and was there for 11 days (they did provide a courtesy car - but charged me £30 for insurance as they couldnt rely on More Than.... As I was driving home last night the exhaust went so I took it to Kwick Fit for an estimate - they showed me the excessive corrosion on the exhaust (after 8 months) and also pointed out that two tyres were worn - suggested I take it back to the peugot garage - surprise surprise - not covered by the warranty, and they could not repair it for a week and would need to keep it for two days at a cost to me of over £500. They suggested I sue the council as the road humps probably caused the exhaust problem and tyres......they also said if I took it to Kwick Fit the exahust and tyres would not last - IF THEY LAST MORE THAN 8 MONTHS that would be a result. Peugot are useless. I would NEVER NEVER BUY A PEUGOT AGAIN AND WOULD RECOMMEND NO ONE TO BUY THIS CAR. The repair was done by Kwick Fit - 3 year guarantee - friendly people done at once in approximately 2 hours.
Overall its a great car and fun to drive.. I have owned my cc now for 3 weeks!! The boot space is great but can be a bit rattly at times when going over bumps and round bends, the back seats are not so bad, I have managed to fit 2 small kids in the back quite comfortably!! The front of the car is very spacious, some of the smaller convertibles I have driven are quite small in the front area and Ive found them to be a bit claustrophobic!!.. so everything has been great apart from a couple of issues!!!! After having the car 2 days, I was experiencing a very strange noise coming from the clutch area, and changing gear wasn't very smooth. I took it back to dealer and they kept it for a few days as the noise was due to the clutch and had to be replaced under warranty along with the gearbox!!! Finally I got the car back and everything has been lovely up until now... but after the heavy rain over the last week, I went to put some shopping in the boot yesterday and found that I have got a water leak, as the carpet is wet!!! Took car back to dealer again and they are going to do a water test on it!!!! Not happy!!!
Apart from that, everything else ok! and I cant wait for the warmer weather to put the roof down!!! Has anybody else experienced this???? (email@example.com )
Have had continual problems with squealing brakes and noise behind drivers right side - appears to be coming from the roof or window. Dealer has been unable to rectify either problem after 5 attempts. peugeot insisted that it could be fixed with their assistance - not so. Have been told by receptionist at dealer service dept that peugeots are noted for having squealing brakes - didn't tell me this when I was buying the car! Although handling, performance etc are OK, I would not buy another Peugeot.
Order a brochure, find your nearest dealer or book a test drive
Amazing car, once driven, never forgotton, forget all the pretenders like BMW Z4 and Mercedes SLK, they will never have the passion of a Porsche
I love this car! Handling is great, its fun to drive and even reasonably practical!
