This car is very safe - we were hit by a 3.5-tonne van but no-one was badly hurt. It has now gone to Peugoet heaven but it did us proud.
I have just recently purchased a 53 plate and I must say overall I am very impressed.
I have to agree with the previous reviewer in respect to the pedals, but I am used to this because I had a 206 hatchback before this and the pedals are exactly the same.
I have found the 1.4 to be very nippy on the road, and an extremely smooth and solid drive. The gearbox is the same as the 206 hatch, with a nice short crisp gear change. I think this car is ideal for a young family, with a reasonably large boot and plenty of room in the back for 2/3 kids. The presence of a proper thrid seat belt in the back is also a huge plus
Take it for a drive, if you can cope with pedals being closer together than in most cars, buy it!
I find the car is heavy on petrol at 30 miles per gallon. The ride is very firm. The pedals are too close together.
I would not recommend it.
I have had this car for 18 months and love it. It has excellent road holding, is physically easy to drive, is economical and has many little features such as a 12v power socket in the boot.
Have you seen the rear hatch? Great idea... the glass opens independently so you can access the boot without opening the tailgate. I'm only 5'4" so a tall man might not be too comfortable with it.
