Disappointed to find that all four break discs corroded within six months of purchase, and wheel alignment was out enough to warrant four new tyres!
All this before the car was one year old and it happened over the summer months!
At the next service, two and a half months later the discs started corroding again and required skimming. The dealer blamed road conditions, and open wheel trims, which allow dirt etc through. I am now concerned this will be a regular expense.
Disappointed with fuel consumption, bought a diesel because I do a high mileage, wouldn't buy this car again.
I use the vehicle as a family runaround, daily commute and regular cross-country journeys - and it is excellent. There where teething issues with the CPU on purchase but customer service to amend these has been impeccable. Car regularly will travel 600 miles on tank of fuel (60 litres - 13 gallons) - is comfortable and had all the regular creature comforts. As far as space goes there is ample and for its range is the best in class. I fit an entire two-seater sofa in the boot with all doors closed! However, I would recommend that purchasers go for parking sensors and fog lights as options on purchase!
After having driven a Peugot 306 2.0HDI Diesel Estate (90 bhp) for 3 years I find the 307 1.6 HDi (110) a better car as far as fuel economy, comfort and safety equipment are concerned.
What I dont like is the lousy gearbox, which causes the gear to jump out of synch when changing up from 2nd to 3rd on my particular car. At 5500 miles a new cable and control lever are required as there is excessive play in the oriniginals fitted.
