I bought a 1.6 LX 5 door hatchback (showroom car) in Nov 01 from a franchised dealership.
Unfortunately, I too have had many problems, some minor and some not so minor. I have tried to reject the car on several occasions, but the dealer has only ever been interested in rectifying matters again and again and again.
From my experience, rejecting a car, without taking legal action, is almost impossible. Never mind, I list below as many of the niggles/problems as I can remember!
On delivery, the car was left in economy mode, which meant that when the engine was not running, no interior lights or electrical equipment worked to enable you to see to get into or out of the car. Not very helpful in the middle of winter! After the dealer switched the mode to normal, the interior lights still did not work correctly. I sorted it out myself after reading the owner's manual as the dealers' staff did not seem to know what the problem was.
I own the 2.0 dturbo three-door 2002.
I wish I had kept my Seat Leon 110 sports diesel. It was a superior car all round. Keep trying Peugeot!
It was bought on the September 2nd, 2004 and has just done 1000 miles, so this is an early view of the car so far.
No faults have occured so far and I am very pleased with my purchase. Outside the car was presented very well in pearlescent blue.
Inside there were no problems with good-quality plastics and trim. As far as driving the car goes, there a couple of points to raise. Firstly, the clutch bites quite high up and takes a while to get used to. Secondly, the 1.4 engine is a new 16 valve unit and is smooth, but you still have to give it a bit more through the gears to move it on due to the weight of the car.
I would still rate the car very highly and am very pleased with my purchase of my first Peugeot.
This is my second 307 I like it very much. I have had no problems with either car.
