    My car

I bought mine nearly 3 years ago,a 52 plate car with one company owner and 108k on the clock. Since then it has cost me a back box and two sets of tyres. It now has 152k on the clock and has been totally reliable. I could not recommend a better motorway cruiser or load lugger or tow car! That good that I have just purchased a 407 SW 2.0 HDI SE to keep it company

    My car

I have owned the car since new in 2001 and have now clocked up 150 000 miles. I had it converted to lpg at 74,000 by a Greenfuel approved garage and this has been reliable apart from stalling issues recently cured by a new coilpack. Over the years its been used fully laden on motorway trips to and from my daughters university, for business trips, and running around locally. I have in mostly used peugeot main dealers who have been helpful and generally effecient. No problems up to 100,000 miles, then main items replaced include exhaust manifold, (leaking and rattling) exhaust, radiator (140K0 water pump, aircon condenser, battery, cluch release bearing (and clutch) coilpack and cambelt service etc. Engine pulls strongly and oil consumption minimalas when new Gearbox is fine and no swarf in oil when clutch change carried out . Returns 33mpg on petrol and 60 mpg equivqlent on gas. would be sad to see it go but expect it will last for another 50,ooo miles or 10 years overall. Still confortable compared with several hire cars of all sizes that I have recently had whilst on holiday. Only moan is that catch on glove compartment broke and will cost £146 to fix!

    My car

    Its a 02 2.0HDI estate LX 84K miles

I have this a a run around for a around a year now and whilst when purchased, all electrics and mechincals were checked, it becoming apparent that this car has electircal problems, air bag warning lights, windows dont close and many more.. i know its done not a million miles and its been severvied regualry by the main dealer and by me using top oil, but the engine noise and rattles this car is developing. The car has some gadgets and the load space is good, parts are cheapish to obtain albeit you do need engine and chassis numbers beofre you can get these. It is showing signs of age now and wrongly assumed that this car would be good for for many years to come, but i dont feel it going to make the next few years, as with its age, cost are coming thick and fast, and when new i susoect this car was very good, so if you thinking of getting one get a low milage and and as new as you can. this one of mine if driven very carfully returns around 40-45mpg on a run or 35 around town. Plus:- loads of space, huge fuel tank -long range, easy to drive, LX has gadets. Bad:- Huge fuel tank, electrical gremlins, rattles, replacing parts over 70k (to be expected), gearbox washy,

I would not buy one of these again, i had a Peugeot before which served me well for years, but this was either a bad example or the standrd for a 406. so best invest in another vehcile.

    My car

I bought this car at 92000 miles as fully serviced, unfourtunately it was not as the FAP filter in the exhaust should have been changed at 75000 miles, it did not cause problems untill 100000 miles when it cost me about £300 but i did the work myself, dead easy only took about 2 1/2 hours. lovely car to drive, no rattles or sqeaks. always does over 40mpg. the engine is so smooth with its two counter weighted balance shafts. you really feel it pull in any gear from 1700 rpm upwards. 30 to 60 mph is under 5 seconds so overtaking is a breeze. the engine burns no oil at all between services (which I do at 9000 miles instead on 12000. it has a huge boot which can carry just about anything you want to. with its electric heated leather memory seats and memory mirrors its just a dream to drive.
