    My car

My 407 is a company car, good points very comfy and a very strong engine, but the rest is very poor, build quality there is no quality. bits fall off (15000 miles)it rattles the sat nav is thick no other word for it, and the warning system is just a pain, it beeps and tells me that I have a flat when I dont I have low pressures and I dont, the ride is OK but the steering is very strange and the gear box is terrible a bit like sturring custard (drive a VW or BMW and you will know what I mean)The dealers are a joke the girl in the service department asking me to order my own parts because the parts department guys didnt like HER (THIS IS TRUE)Well all I can say is I am very glad I didnt pay the 20 grand for it ( by the way I have to keep it unlocked as the alarm just goes off)

    My car

Be VERY wary of the brakes on these cars. The 407 has dreadful response from the brake pedal when cruising on the motorway. You reach for the brakes and for a moment there is no response. I have had 6 visits to the dealership with problems including one visit for a service.

WHAT POSSESSED ME TO BUY THIS CAR???

Driving this car is fantastic. I love the driving experience but all the annoying electrical faults are really beginning to wear me down

I have owned this car for 6 months and so far it has been back to peugeot every month!! Most recently, yesterday as a result of a gearbox fault!!

The list so far: Nearside Rear Door Lock broken Radio broken (CD Still not returned) Bonnet Hook Clip snapped Loose Driver seat Emabarrassingly squeeky brakes (Repaired twice but still doing it) Gearbox Lights not working Indicator switches down to left after turning right - spring too tight

NEVER AGAIN will I buy a Peugeot - drive is great but too annoying for words!! I was hoping to hang on to this car for a few years but now I can't wait to get rid of it!!

    My car

HAS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR REVING BY ITSELF AND CONSTANTLY JUDDERING, i don't belive i am the only 407 driver out there with this problem, but Peugeot seem to think so. i bought the car when it was just over 2 years old in august 2006 and the milage was impressively low 13,000 miles. in august 2007 the car had only done just over 26,000 miles when intermittent problems started. the car would judder and lose power for a few seconds and then pickup again, very dangerous at juctions, at lights and junctions the car would rev it's self for no reason and would eventually become almost undrivable. Peugeot denied all knowledge of what this could be, the garage had my car for over a week and eventually said it was the ECR valve which they replaced, i had major discussions with Peugeot customer care about this and eventually they paid for the garage to replace the valve, but they weren't going to as dispite the low milage it was 1 month out of warranty. All was fine for 3 months and now 4 months on and even now the milage is only 39,400 miles the same valve has failed again and i am having to fight my case with Peugeot yet again. Oh yes and the screen wipers are annoyingly noisy, and the drives door seal now appears to be leaking, not had the fun of the squeeky brakes yet. It is the first and deffinately the last Peugeot i will ever buy.
