Owned the Exec model for a short time, 50 miles after driving back from the dealers the seatbelt alarm kept flashing contantly. Parking distance packed up in week 2, and again 2 days after being fixed. Stereo came on full blast for no reason, switched off the ignition and the stereo still screamed out, unable to turn down. The tecnicians were confused at this one. I used to own the TDCI mondeo, and had to grab this car quickly with no test drive (mad decision) the car is streets behind my old mondeo with the turbo lag, a huge change, however a very comfortable driving position. Sat nav very slow to respond. Zenon lights a good feature and worth it on dark nights. Changed jobs and now back into a Mondeo, or at least I will be shortly. Don't miss the Peugeot one bit.
I have owned this car for 3 months and I cannot wait to get rid. The ride is hard, the gearbox is notchy and the suspensions knocks over the smallest of bumps. The interior quality is shocking with windows rattling, seats rattling and bulbs constantly blowing on the dashboard.
Here comes the real sting in the tail: try to sell one and you will be really shocked. In 3 months (1500 miles), the resale at the dealer who sold me the car is £3500 below my purchase price. Their reason? It's clearly a bad car and they will have to discount the car to sell on. What a farce - never buy French cars!
I'm very happy with this car, there have been a few minor glitches that Peugeot very quickly sorted out.
This is my first diesel car and I was very surprised by its performance - the acceleration is good and the 2.0-litre turbo engine has plenty of go.
Fuel consumption in town is not very impressive, but over 700 miles from a full tank on the motorway makes up for it.
It's very smooth to drive and comfortable, too. The rear seats could have a little more headroom and the climate control in summer keeps you nice and cool.
I'll certainly buy another.
I have owned my 407 for two months and use it as a taxi.
At 72k the release bearing has collapsed, clutch and flywheel disintegrated and slave cylinder failed. As it has done over 60k Peugeot dont want to know - thanks! I'm really gutted because the car is superb to drive... when it works.

Owned for 1 year, as family runabout Pros good size, general build quality, powershift gearbox, good to drive, low costs Cons handling slighly…
Had this car for 90k from new. A 56 plate. In over 2,000,000 miles driven this one has broken down the most of any car I have had. DO NOT get a 2.0…
