Just completed 40k in this car and i am very happy overall - good kit, great engine, very comfortable and happily makes the advertised MPG. No reliability or performance issues so far. Gripes are as follows;
In common with a few other reviewers, the washer bottle leaks - what's that all about?
Sat nav does not take postcodes and sometimes talks to me in heavily (foreign)accented english - very stange.
Computer system occasionally randomly re-sets itself and audio changes modes on ignition - no big deal but irritating
Audio has no independent base and treble adjustments - just 'modes'
Driver floor mat does not attach properly to the floor
Too small for a family of five
I would consider buying this when it comes off contract but potential problems with all the electrics are currently deterring me.
best engine , very good car , a lot of gadgets
I wrote in Sept 2005 following a 300mile test drive, I've now completed appx 2yrs and 47k miles ( most are motorway miles).I still think it is very comfortable, well kitted and practical. However just recently thinks have started to fail ( I don't mind as it is a co.car I don't have to pay for repairs) just note that it has gone in for a new clutch, ball joints, and front discs. A colleague has experienced the same.A quality issue ?
I have had this car alomost a year now (a year old when bought) and the problems are multiplying almost weekly.
Since I bought the car the following problems have occured...
1. Heavy wear on tyres 2. Sunroof had to be replaced as motor wore out 3. Fuel consumption is nowhere near as good as expected 4. New clutch, not covered by warranty as warranty only lasts for 20K miles on the clutch. Was told it may have been a problem with the fly wheel. 5. On the motorway the accelerator jammed and wouldn't release without a fair bit of pulling underneath the pedal. Not good when you have a small child in the back. 6. Like the last review I have also encountered the problem with lack of power followed by sudden surge of power. Again the delaership couldn't locate any problem but driving through traffic is like wacky races! 7. At the moment I can't actually remember the other problems.
Definitely the last Peugeot I will by. As I said to the dealership on last visit for repair, I would be cheaper buying a Beemer.
