    My car

Excellent to drive - it goes just where you point it. Surprising amount of useable luggage space. Economical given the power. I average 30mpg, much better than Impreza turbos I have owned. A couple of niggles with interior trim quality, but overall very satisfied.

    My car

An xcellent car - as you would expect from a Porsche.

It's a car that is very underestimated due to it being the cheaper brother of the 911. With its middle engine sat behind you, this car corners like it is on rails. The handling and reliability are amazing, what you would expect from a German car.

The only downside is the running costs, with the mix of super unleaded, expensive tyres and servicing, running costs are very high.

The power and noise from the flat six engine sounds so good, there's no need for a stereo.

The tiptronic box has a quick and quiet gear change, that you can hardly notice.

    My car

    A fantastic driving experience.

My 2.5 1999 model has an upgraded audio system, which is hardly used. Just listen to that engine sound. Happy days.

There is some evidence of cheap materials in cabin, though.

It's worth taking time to shop around as equipment levels vary due to an extensive options list when new.

Full PSH is a must and HPI. It's also worth phoning the garages where the service book stamps are. The service intervals are 12K or yearly. Some owners may have just had yearly services.

    Yearly: £260ish. 24K and 48K miles: £600+

Shop around for insurance too. I was quoted £800 down to £365 fully comp with a recognised company.

Overall, with FPSH the car is bomb proof. Absolutely fantastic.
