What a great car. I have had the fortune of having bought 13 new cars from six different manufacturers in the last five-and-a-half years. They have included Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Land Rover.
I can honestly say that the Porsche meets and exceeds all my requirements in terms of finish, performance, and presence on the road.
My experience with the dealership network has been very good - everyone there has demonstrated that they are people involved with a premium product and choose to try and deliver the highest level of service.
In summary, it's a great car which will make all the mundane journeys worth taking and put a smile on your face in the process.
Being fortunate to have owned a Range Rover and my wife has a X5, the Cayenne S leaves them standing is streets ahead of both and I enjoy more than my 911.What an accolade!
It is a joy to drive and never fails to please with top class reliability and service. Forget any poor reviews or VW references.
With two years on and 26000 miles on the clock,it is the best car I have ever had and will replace with a turbo version.... what else can be so good and practical. You see the beauty beneath with ownership.
This relates to the Cayenne S V8 (I would not buy the V6).
The car is magnificent and I am thrilled with it. I have no idea why What Car? gave it such a poor rating. I drove all 4x4s and it was a clear choice (18 motnhs ago) between the Range Rover Vogue and the Cayenne S. The test drive of the Porsche left me in no doubt.
The Range Rover is lovely but I felt I had many more years for that kind of opulence! The engine and Porsche experience completly seduced me and I have no regrets.
That V8 is knockout in terms of speed, power, engine noise and sheer oomph. After 18 months, it has cost me only one new tyre. It does not need servicing for two full years. I guess there is a mileage max which does not appply as I only do around 10k per year.
My complaints are that the sat-nav seldom seems to get it right, and that they should have used chrome rather than plastic inside. I hear they are modifying it.
Getting plenty of extras protects the residual value. I have the air suspension (PSM) which makes the drive great.
It is a very good car which has very good facilities. It runs well and is very practical.
