Fantastic to drive. Engine/exhaust noise is a real treat to listen to so suggest driving with windows down.
After owning five Porsches previously, I expected the same build quality etc.
No matter how good the car is, the porsche feel is not there. I have had rattles from the rear seats and shelf. The dealer put tape around the fittings to try to fix the problem and the aluminium strips on the sill fell off. The rear glass pops open while driving.
If you buy one without sat-nav you may find it harder to sell. By weight, it is the cheapest Porsche but for £50,000, Porsche could do much better.
I've owned this car for nearly two years - almost the longest I've owned any car - and it is used daily for all tasks.
This car was one of the first in the UK, and as such suffered from the new-car niggles and recalls, which was disappointing. All of these were sorted by the excellent dealer, who collected the car and arranged a suitable courtesy car every time.
I feel the dealer service is at least as good if not better than I experienced previously with BMW. Now that all issues have been sorted, the car is near faultless as an ownership proposition.
Fuel consumption and servicing (£650 for the first, 20,000-mile inspection) can be tiresome, as can tyres that need replacing at 8000-10,000 miles.
That said, I cannot think of a better all-round package of space, pace and prestige, and the running costs can be offset against the good residuals.
To me after trying meny other cars, like the M-Class, X5 and so on, Porsche was best for me.
Space inside is good because I'm 205cm tall, so many other cars were too small for me.
Also, I live in Finland but am now stationed in Russia, in diplomatic work. The 4x4 is excellent here in winters.
The performance of the Cayenne gives me the opportunity to drive 1000 miles to Finland at weekends.
The Russian higways aren't in such good shape and the driving style is like in India - no rules on the road - so I do need speed and performance and safety.
