    My car

Having owned this car for two years and covered over 40,000 miles I believe I am qualified to comment on the Clio.

The Authentique is a cheap little car and this is reflected by the price, however the car makes for excellent value. My Clio has covered well over the average mileage for its age yet continues to drive as new and has given me no reliability problems.

The engine is a 1.2 litre unit without the 16v - so it's not as punchy, however the car can easily cope with motorway driving (but can get a little noisy above 85mph).

The interior of the car is basic but that can be expected for such a low price tag, however the build quality is not bad and sufficient equipment is present.

The only problems I have experienced with the car are the extremely annoying key fob, which continues to break (loose battery fitting). As well as the key, I have to say that the windscreen wipers are of poor quality, often leaving smears and allowing water to rise up the windscreen on the motorway.

However apart from a few minor niggles I can recommend this car to anyone!

    My car

I have had my car for about 18 months and, generally I have found it to be enjoyable and economical motoring. I do 30 miles a day and, while no asphalt scorcher, it will happily cruise at higher speeds for long distances.

The quality of the trim and interior is pretty good and not what I ahve experienced on previous French cars I have owned (two GT Turbos). I find it well built on the whole. However, it is going into the garage tomorrow as it has broken down twice in the last week.

After travelling down the motorway and joining the queue to join the sliproad, there is a fade to a complete lack of power and then it just cuts out completely and takes half an hour to re-start. I would like to know if any other owners have experienced anything similar.

I do like the car but this has left a bitter taste and I have just ordered a Megane Dynamique Sport Hatch.

    My car

Bought this new recently and am very pleased so far. The 1.2 has a lot of grunt and sounds good, even if it has to be worked hard to achieve its best performance.

As for ride, it is quite relaxed for such a small car. It handles well, although it could possibly be a little more fun when pushed hard.

The plastics used feel a little on the cheap side but on the whole I'd say it's well worth what you pay, especially if you can get a good deal, as I did.

    My car

I have the 2.0 182, I've had the car, four months now and have loved every minute of it!

The handling is outstanding, you have to drive it to understand. The only downside is that being 22, the insurance isn't cheap.
